Choose a useful scope

Create guides for areas you actively serve and can maintain. Use recognizable, accurate names and describe the geographic boundaries when a neighborhood name is informal.

Build the guide

Open Neighborhoods → Add neighborhood and include:

• A concise overview and who the area may suit without using discriminatory language.
• Housing types and typical physical characteristics.
• Transit, parks, services, and amenities.
• Links or attribution for time-sensitive public data.
• Your direct experience and services in the area.

Use appropriate imagery

Upload images you own or are licensed to use. Do not imply that a landmark or property is included in a listing. Add meaningful alternative text rather than repeating the neighborhood name.

Avoid steering and stale claims

Do not describe protected classes or characterize who “belongs” in an area. Be cautious with claims such as “safe,” “best schools,” or future development. Use neutral, attributable facts and encourage clients to consult official sources for their individual priorities.

Review each guide regularly because businesses, transit, prices, and public services change.
